Broadly three steps involved.
a) Generate XML file.b) eFile your generated XML file to IT filing site.
c) Send ITR-V file duly signed to IT department (Only Postal charges)
STEPS (Overview)
1. Go to http://easyitfiling.com/ & click Upload Form-16/File Tax Returns
2. In next screen. Click Browse, Upload and then Submit Form-16
3. In next screen, you need to enter your details. Click Save & Continue.
4. In next screen, your Salary details retrieved from your Form 16 is displayed. Select State as Tamilnadu.
Cross check the values comparing your Form 16. In most cases it will be correct data. If found any discrepancy in the values, you can edit the values with blue hyperlinks.
After modifications (if applicable) click Next.
5. Verify tax savings components in the next screen & click Next.
6. Final verification page. Verify Summary and click Enter Bank details & File Tax Returns.
7. Fill your Bank account details with branch MICR code & click Save & Continue.
8. Now Download XML File and save it.
9. Go to https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ and Register yourself with PAN card details.
10. Navigate to Select Assessment Year and Click AY 12-13 link.
11. Choose ITR-1 (applicable to most of you, but may vary) and No – Click Next.
12. In next screen, Browse & Upload your Downloaded XML File and Click OK for the pop up.
13. You can now download the ITR-V file, open with password as instructed and take printout.
14. Finally Send ITR-V file duly signed to the above address by Ordinary Post or Speed post as instructed above.
